Beginning of a New Collaboration

On June 19 of this year, the M. Kotanyan Institute of Economics of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia hosted two researchers from the Agricultural University of Plovdiv (Bulgaria): Doctor of Sciences and lecturer at the Faculty of Marketing and Management Hayk Garabedyan, and Candidate of Sciences Kristian Kirkov.
One of the guests, Hayk Garabedyan, is of Armenian origin and was visiting his homeland for the first time.


During the meeting, Director M. Manucharyan presented the ongoing activities of the Institute. The guests were particularly interested in the topic “Introducing the Concept of a Circular Economy Model as a Necessity to Enhance Food Security in the Republic of Armenia,” since the Plovdiv University’s Center for Research, Technology Transfer and Intellectual Property Protection is also conducting research on “Approaches to the Transition to a Circular and Bioeconomy, and Innovative Circular Technology Solutions in Farming.”
H. Garabedyan noted that the results of the research are being discussed at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, with which the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia has been cooperating since March 2024.During the meeting, the possibilities of conducting joint scientific research and submitting articles were discussed.
The meeting concluded with an agreement to exchange experiences, cooperate toward common goals, and establish interdisciplinary partnerships.
