REPORT ON THE MAIN RESULTS OF THE RESEARCH AND SCIENTIFIC-ORGANIZATIONAL ACTIVITIES OF M. KOTANYAN INSTITUTE OF ECONOMICS OF THE NAS OF THE RA FOR 2018

The Most Important Results

Within the scope of the Research project entitled “Approaches to Identifying Unreported Sales Revenue and Constraining the Chances for Tax Evasion Practices in the Republic of Armenia” (Research Team Leader: Vladimir Liparit Harutyunyan, Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia, Doctor of Sciences (Economics), professor) the fol­lo­wings have been proposed:
  • Mechanisms for regulating the shadow economy of the Republic of Armenia in accordance with the goals of national-state interests and ensuring economic security;
  • Ways to prevent law-abiding taxpayers, as well as increase the efficiency of disclosure of the shadow taxpayers.
Within the scope of the Research project entitled “Issues on Developing Nuclear Energy in the Republic of Armenia” (Research Team Leader: Hayk Ashot Markosyan, Candidate of Sciences (Economics)) the fol­lo­wings have been proposed:
  • Alternative approaches to the construction of a new nuclear power plant in the field of nuclear power.

Within the scope of the research project entitled “Export Promotion and Import Substitution Issues in the Republic of Armenia” (Research Team Leader: Lilit Norayr Sargsyan, Ph.D. in Economics) the fol­lo­wings have been proposed:
  • Ways of expanding the network of Armenian representations abroad, acquiring a trademark as a guarantee of quality, and consistently spreading it through all marketing opportunities in foreign markets, participating in international fairs and exhibitions;
  • To create an export platform for the RA export support organizations.
Within the scope of the research project entitled “Issues of Agricultural Insurance in the Republic of Armenia” (Research Team Leader: Mery Gagik Manucharyan, Ph.D. in Economics) the fol­lo­wings have been proposed:
  • Implementation of comprehensive insurance risk assessment programs at the expense of public funds;
  • Implement pilot (pilot) insurance plans in certain areas for insurance coverage.
Within the scope of the research project entitled “The Cluster Mechanisms for Innovative Development of the Defense Industry in the Republic of Armenia” (Research Team Leader: Gayane Ernik Harutyunyan, Ph.D. in Economics, Associate Professor) the fol­lo­wings have been proposed:
  • State-initiated steps to establish military-industrial clusters simultaneously in several regions of Armenia.
Within the scope of the research project entitled “Complex Measures to Stimulate the Small and Medium-sized Entrepreneurship in the Republic of Armenia” (Research Team Leader: Svetlana Arkadi Dallaqyan, Ph.D. in Economics) the fol­lo­wings have been proposed:

Mechanisms for lending to SMEs with favorable interest rates;

  • A program of preferential tariffs for raw materials and materials imported for export purposes.
Within the scope of the research project entitled “The Issues of Building a Platform for the Most Effective Cooperation on Separate Procedures of the Transfer Pricing in the Republic of Armenia” (Research Team Leader: Kristine Yuri Baghdasaryan, Ph.D. in Economics) the fol­lo­wings have been proposed:
  • Introduce the law on transfer pricing in the Republic of Armenia.
