The Most Important Results
Within the scope of the works of “Taxation Overseas Practices and Possible Application in the Republic of Armenia” research theme (Team Leader: Corresponding member of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia Vladimir Harutyunyan, Doctor of Economic Sciences)
- The analysis of direct and indirect taxes justified a strong correlation between lower tax burden and small size of the shadow economy, by predicting tax evasion behavior and practices adopted by legal entity taxpayers within the framework of improvement of tax administration and business climate.
- Robert Sarinyan’s and Vladimir Harutyunyan’s book “Line-up of Prominent Economists (Pre-Keynesian Period): Scientific Biographical Sketches” was published. In Sergey Ghazaryan’s and Eduard Ghazaryan’s book “SME Development and Implementation of Integral Measures by the State Support in the Agricultural Sector of the Republic of Armenia”, the authors specified the existing principles according to which SMEs need to be classified; and issues on the compatibility of European standards and the indicators describing the industry. In the book edited by Toros Torosyan “Armenia and Turkey in Regional Integration Processes”, the authors presented the macroeconomic stance and the development of international trade and discusses Armenian-Turkish trade and economic ties. In Davit Harutyunyan’s book “Issues on the Management of the Balance of Payments in Armenia”, the author studied the nature and structure of the balance of payments of Armenia, analyzed the regulation principles to be applied in the management of the balance of payments and perspectives of increasing efficiency of regulation methods. In Vilen Khachatryan’s and Anna Makaryan’s book “Assessment of the Short-term Impact of the Economic and Financial Crisis in Armenia”, the authors attempted to concisely provide short-term social developments in Armenia, in general.
