Vladimir Harutyunyan, the Director of M.Kotanyan Institute of Economics of the NAS RA has passed away

We are deeply saddened to inform you that on March 5, 2022, at the age of 65, a talented scientist, honored and honest intellectual, Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia, Doctor of Economics, Professor, Director of M. Kotanyan Institute of Economics of the NAS RA- Vladimir Liparit Harutyunyan has prematurely passed away. The Armenian economic community has suffered a heavy loss.

V.L. Harutyunyan was born on May 21, 1957, in Karinj village, Lori region. He held responsible positions in financial, tax, banking, industrial and scientific spheres. V. L. Harutyunyan was the Director of M. Kotanyan Institute of Economics, NAS RA since 2006.

In 2010, Harutyunyan was elected a corresponding Member of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia for indisputable services in the scientific and educational sphere. In 2013, he was awarded with a “Movses Khorenatsi” medal.  Harutyunyan was a prizewinner of “Effective Researcher-2014”, “Effective Researcher-2016”, “Effective Researcher-2018″ competitions. He is an author of 27 monographs and more than 140 scientific articles. He has presented 15 applied proposals to RA Government, has more than 5 dozen defended graduate students and applicants. 21 journals of scientific articles have been prepared and published under his responsibility. He left a huge scientific legacy.

 The scientific staff of the National Academy of Sciences, RA deeply mourns the untimely death of the great scientist, Professor, Corresponding Member of the NAS RA-Vladimir Harutyunyan and condolences to his family and friends.
