The National Library of Armenia and “Publishers International Linking Association, Inc.” (PILA) signed an agreement. According to it the official registered organization of PILA will provide services for connecting to the International Bibliographic Directory- CrossRef .
What is a DOI (Digital Object Identifier) and what will it give to the scientific community?
- DOI is a system for identifying objects in a digital environment that provides a process for identifying materials, managing content and metadata, and greatly facilitates the search and citation of scientific materials:
- With the help of DOI, it will be possible to ensure cross-linking of world scientific publications.
- The official agency of Digital Object Identifier’s (DOI) registration- Crossref unites publishers of academic publications (journals, monographs, collections of scientific conference materials,
- Assigning a DOI has a positive impact on the reputation of the author or publisher,
- The article which received DOI is cited by a journal included in the specified databases, it is also entered into these databases, which significantly increases its value,
- By receiving the DOI identifier, the material can be placed in the world’s leading scientific bibliographic databases-Scopus, Web of Science, etc.
- The provision of DOI ensures the protection of intellectual property rights.
